State Geological Programming Board
The Commissioner of Geology and Mining is designated as Chairman for the State Geological Programming Board.
The Board consists of members drawn from Geological Survey of India, Central Ground Water Board, State GroundWater Resources, Indian Bureau of Mines, Tamilnadu Minerals Limited, Neyveli Lignite Corporation, Mineral Exploration Corporation Limited, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited, Presidency College, Institute of Remote sensing of Anna University.
The Board Meetings are conducted twice in a year -- During January and July.
The work carried out by the Member organization during the previous year and the future plan of action are discussed during the programming board meeting in order to avoid duplication of work and sharing of information between various organizations.
Last meeting of the State Geological Programming Board was held on 22.07.2010.(Minutes)
